My Story
Hi, I’m Jolandi, a travelling yoga teacher, mindset mentor and women’s empowerment guide.

From surviving to truly living.
I was born and raised in South Africa, a beautiful country that also taught me early to be aware of danger. I learned to anticipate what could go wrong, to be careful and, in many ways, to live in fear.
After school, I jumped. While everyone else was packing for university, I boarded a flight out of the country and followed a childhood dream of joining the military.
I spent 13 years in the British Army, where I learned discipline, resilience, leadership and how to keep going when things get hard.
I’m incredibly grateful for those years. But looking back, I can also see how they shaped me. I learned to push through, override what I was feeling and be strong no matter what. In a male-dominated environment, I constantly felt I had something to prove.
Somewhere along the way, I began to equate my worth with how much I could endure and achieve. The constant striving left me with anxiety and a dysregulated nervous system.
I was disciplined on the outside, but deeply disconnected on the inside.
I struggled with body image, constantly dieted or counted calories and pushed my body to exhaustion. Despite all that discipline, I secretly felt powerless around food, addicted to sugar and in a pattern of anxiety.
Looking back, so much of my life was about trying to create safety and acceptance through control.

It made no sense to leave the military.
I’d built a career I was proud of, flying through the ranks and becoming a Staff Sergeant within 12 years.
But my soul wanted to move. (And yes, I wanted dreads!) So I jumped again, this time into the corporate world.
On paper, I was doing everything right. I was building an HR career, working hard and earning good money. But although my bank account was full, my soul was empty. Underneath it all was a quiet knowing: There is more to me than this.
Eventually, I jumped again, into entrepreneurship, thinking I’d finally found freedom. But I’d made one big mistake.
I was trying to build a new life with the same old identity.
I brought the same pressure, beliefs and patterns with me. I worked harder, pushed more and kept trying to prove myself.
Eventually, I ran out of motivation, energy and money. I burned out, and my business failed.
It was one of the lowest points of my life, but it forced me to recognise something: I didn’t just need to rebuild my business. I had to rebuild my relationship with myself, and with money.
It was yoga that saved me.
On my darkest day, when I could see no way out, getting onto my yoga mat gave me enough hope and courage to carry on for one more day. And that’s all I needed.
I’d practised yoga for years, but when I began studying its philosophy, something clicked. Yoga wasn’t just movement. It was a way of living and a way of coming back to myself.
I didn’t need more discipline. I needed deeper connection.
I completed my yoga teacher training and immersed myself in healing, mindset work and personal development. As part of that journey, I completed an intensive six-month Mindset and Manifestation programme, which completely transformed the way I understood the subconscious mind, our beliefs and the patterns shaping our lives.
“I began to recognise how much of my own life had been shaped by beliefs I’d never consciously chosen, about success, worth, my body, money and who I was supposed to be.”
And I realised that if I’d learned those patterns, I could unlearn them.
Those learnings became the foundation of Soul Care, nurturing and harmonising our physical, emotional, mental, spiritual, and financial wellbeing through Soul Yoga, mindset work, and sisterhood.
Soul Care wasn’t something I did to support my life. It was the work of creating it.

Realign. Remember. Rewild.
This became the philosophy at the heart of everything I do as a yoga teacher, mindset mentor and women’s empowerment guide.
I began to realign my physical body, emotional body, mind and spirit. And from that alignment, I began to remember.
“I remembered who the fuck I am!”
Not who society told me to be. Not who I thought I needed to become to be successful, worthy or enough. I remembered who I was before the world told me who I should be.
And from that remembrance came rewilding.
I began setting myself free from the patterns that had kept me stuck. I learned to listen to my body rather than control it, honour my emotions rather than override them and relate to money from trust rather than fear.
I stopped trying to change my life from the outside in, but from the inside out instead. I changed the woman creating it. Inner freedom created my outer freedom.

Soul Care gave me my power back.
Today, I live a life I once couldn’t have imagined.
I travel the world. I work for myself. I spend most of my time in nature. I prioritise my health, live organically, cyclically and intuitively. I create meaningful work and surround myself with people I connect deeply with, and I have a sisterhood I call soul family.
I am a rich barefoot hippie, deeply in love with my life.
Somewhere in doing this work, I remembered my purpose too. The more Soul Care changed my own life, the more I knew I wanted to help other women experience what becomes possible when they reconnect with themselves. Since then, I’ve had the privilege of guiding over a hundred women already through this work, and watching them come back to themselves has become some of the most meaningful work of my life.
Their growth is part of my purpose. Their success is part of mine.
And that’s why I created The Soul Sanctuary.
I believe women have a responsibility to do the work, to heal what we can, break the patterns we’ve inherited, set ourselves free and lay stronger foundations for the generations that follow us. But I don’t want women to become versions of me. I want them to become more deeply themselves.

I won’t tell you who to be.
I don’t believe there is one right way to live a beautiful life. I’m not here to tell you what your life should look like or what your village should be. I’m here to help you find that within yourself. To guide you. Support you. Challenge you. And help you trust yourself enough to build it.
And yes, the Staff Sergeant in me is still here, too.
I’m compassionate, but I’m not here to bullshit you. I’ll lovingly call you out when you’re standing in your own way, hiding behind an old story or making choices that aren’t aligned with the woman you’re telling me you want to become.
Because sometimes, you need to hear what you need to hear, not just what you want to hear.
I believe every woman deserves a big, bold, beautiful and unapologetic life. A life that feels like hers, not one dictated by society, someone else’s definition of success or the limitations of old beliefs.
I’m devoted to the woman who knows there is more, and who is ready to do the inner work, not to become someone new, but to remember who she has always been. You don’t need another person telling you who to be. You need someone who can help you remember.
Your journey starts here.
Maybe you’ve spent years trying to fix, improve or control yourself into becoming the woman you think you’re supposed to be. Or maybe there’s simply a quiet voice within you saying: “There’s more to me than this.”
If you’re ready to listen to that voice and journey back to yourself, this is your invitation to join me inside The Soul Sanctuary.
The Soul-Trust Reset is the doorway in.
It’s where you begin reconnecting with yourself and rebuilding the self-trust needed to create a life that feels deeply like yours.
You don’t need to become someone new. You need to come home to yourself. And if you’re ready, I’ll meet you inside.
